Overview
A power DPS build for Untamed. The playstyle is very similar to Soulbeast, but lacks the extreme burst power. In return, Untamed is more survivable as well as being less reliant on remaining at high health. Additionally, the strength of your pet provides a measure of consistent damage even if fight mechanics disrupt you.
The need to leash and unleash your pet for extra damage and to access ambushes means that the rotation requires speed and accuracy to perform well.

Variants
- Sword/Axe can replace Spear. The two builds deal very similar damage, with Sword/Axe having higher burst - though if this is important you'd be better off playing Soulbeast.
Tiger is the highest DPS pet if you're not using Spear.
Fanged Iboga is 200 less DPS than
Tiger, but brings a little extra CC.
Carrion Devourer is taken as it allows for burst damage on petswap to open and close phases, but the second pet could be used for utility instead.
- There are no elite skill options that offer worthwhile damage, so run whichever has the most utility.

Usage
Rotation
Start with Pet unleashed. Whenever the pet is unleashed you also want to be using your F1-3 skills off cooldown. If you put your pet's F1-3 skills on autocast, it can reduce the difficulty of this rotation, but it will be more efficient to trigger them yourself. Use the following skills depending on pet:
Jaguar - F1 and F3
Tiger/
Fanged Iboga - F1-3
Carrion Devourer - F2
Unleashing, and your Unleashed pet's F1-3 skills, are all instant cast so can be used during other skills.
Throughout the rotation,
and are used to maintain uptime.
Spear Rotation
Ranger's spear is unique because all of its 2-5 skills have their own stealth attacks.
provides stealth, and as an ammo skill you can use it frequently to access these stealth attacks. This skill also has a unique effect that allows you to use these stealth attacks even if you get revealed, though using any stealth attack will remove this effect.
Opener
- All pet F1-3 skills
- (optional, if you start on Carrion Devourer) - can use during other skills. Swap pet after it finishes.
Weapon Swap
Spear Loop
- ⇒ ⇒
- (Jaguar skill) - this provides normal stealth, so make sure not to reveal yourself before hitting Predator's Ambush
- ⇒ ⇒
- While going through the auto chain:
- All available pet skills [F1-3]
Weapon Swap
Hammer Loop
- ⇒ ⇒ x3
- ⇒ ⇒
- While going through the auto chain:
- All available pet skills [F1-3]
Weapon Swap
- Repeat from start of Spear Loop
- If the boss will phase before you need to use
Carrion Devourer for another use of .
again, you can pet swap back to
Sword/Axe Rotation
Opener
- All pet F1-3 skills
- (optional, if you start on Carrion Devourer) - can use during other skills. Swap pet after it finishes.
Weapon Swap
Sword/Axe Loop
- ⇒ ⇒ x2
- At some point during this section (the sooner the better) you want to do the following:
- Use all F1-3 skills
- - try to time this such that it happens at the end of the second autoattack chain, so it isn't interrupeted
Weapon Swap
Hammer Loop
- ⇒ ⇒ x2
- ⇒ ⇒
- and use all F1-3 skills
Weapon Swap
- Repeat from start of Sword/Axe Loop
CC
Untamed has pretty poor access to CC, and most of the options you have are used in your rotation:
- Tail Lash (F1 on Carrion Devourer) - pet swap to use, and swap back to your other pet when you can.
- (F2 on Fanged Iboga, if using).
- - the positioning during the axe loop is flexible, so you can adjust to make it line up with defiance bars, or slightly delay the weapon swap in order to get a second use in.
- and offer CC if used while the pet is unleashed, but accessing this requires rearranging your rotation and a loss of DPS.
- can replace if you take , for a small DPS loss.
