Usage

Elite specialization basics

  • Dodge rolling is replaced by Mirage Cloak, which is more or less the same thing but allows you to cast skills and grants access to ambush attacks for the duration: Mirage Thrust for sword and Phantom Razor for dagger. Ambush skills replace the autoattack of the weapons for 1.5 seconds.
  • Pressing dodge grants increased movement speed and Regeneration Regeneration, which reduces incoming condition duration while it lasts thanks to Renewing Oasis. Infinite Horizon makes it so that whenever you gain Mirage Cloak, your clones are also going to receive it with all benefits including access to ambush attacks - it can even make your clones evade skills such as Full Counter, denying your opponent various bonuses.
  • You can dodge while casting skills or stomping/rezing, but you can't dodge while CC'd.

Mobility

  • Sword's Mirage Thrust is perfect for moving around the map or disengaging from fights (when used without a target). Consider using Mind Wrack while roaming between capture points for the Vigor Vigor from Nomad's Endurance, as endurance fuels your ambush attacks.

General

  • The gameplan is quite simple: dodge rolling summons a clone and makes all of your clones unload ambush attacks. Your goal is to build up your clone count and spam ambushes on enemies in order to score interrupts.
  • The entire build was built around Dagger's Phantom Razor - it stacks conditions while making it hard for opponents to get any skill casts off with the Daze Daze spam. While the daze has an extremely short duration all we really care about here are interrupts to proc Power Block and Relic of the Demon Queen. Eventually you'll lock enemies out of most of their important skills with Power Block while spamming them with conditions.
  • On Dagger/Pistol open with Phantasmal Duelist and Magic Bullet, interrupts reduce the CD of pistol skills so spamming dagger ambush attacks is going to recharge them in no time.
  • Shatter skills remove boons, which is a great way of getting rid of Stability Stability and opening up targets for more Daze Daze spam.
  • Sword's ambush skill also dazes targets but in terms of damage it lags behind Dagger. It's quite good at softening up targets however as it removes boons.
  • On Sword Torch the 2 best defensive skills are Blurred Frenzy for avoiding attacks and The Prestige for condition removal/blind/stealth.

I could see this dominating in a future meta but it does have some issues. The damage is single target and very conditional, stability renders this largely harmless and projectile hate forces it into melee where it gets swatted like a fly the moment invuln frames run out. Can't really teamfight, only outnumber and occasionally 1v1. The interrupts when they go through though are extremely powerful, hitting a healing skill can be devastating but it doesn't have a good teamfight presence without being able to CC, so it's very matchup dependent. It's not like hammer rev where everything hits like a truck no matter what.

Sometimes you absolutely get to dominate the game with this build and it's extremely annoying to fight against, but it's also very squishy and can get punished hard if the enemy team has several mobile roamers too. While it has tools to combat Stability spam and anti-projectile skills those can certainly hurt its effectiveness too. It's a strong build but I'm not sure if I'd rate it 5 right now. Definitely has potential though so I might revisit this in the future.

Effectively counter warrior and necros. Dragonhunter is not an ideal matchup but it is still winable. Countered by tempest, daredevil. Engi is arguable. But most of the time, you can just +1.
