Skill Variants

Utility

  • "Protect Me!" over Quickening Zephyr - trades burst damage for better sustain, you should still have Quickness Quickness on your opener from Sigil of Superior Sigil of Rage and the extra sustain from Protect Me could help you put up a fight if the opponent survives it.

Usage

Elite specialization basics

  • Soulbeast allows Rangers to meld/merge with their pet, becoming one. This is done through Beastmode which has a 10s CD.
  • Traits related to swapping pets now activate upon entering/leaving Beastmode.
  • Pet related traits and skills such as Pet's Prowess continue to function even while merged, but this time you'll be the one who benefits from them, not the pet (although sometimes the effects are lessened).
    • IMPORTANT: skills that affect your pet like "Sic 'Em!" have to be used after merging if you wish to benefit from them, already active skill effects will be lost just like when swapping pets.

General

  • The build focuses on taking out its opponent in the opener using Staff. Sword/Warhorn is more of a backup set in case you're forced into a longer fight.
  • Bear Stance could be used both offensively and defensively. This is your best skill for survival especially if the target survived the initial burst and you have to put up a fight, but it could also be used during the Staff combo to ignore conditions like Weakness Weakness or Blind Blind.
  • Use mobility skills like Ancestral Grace to keep your distance or disengage if things don't go according to plan.

Burst rotation

  1. Optional - stack stealth for yourself by dropping Smoke Cloud (Smokescale F2). The next step of the chain already gives you stealth as CotW is a blast finisher, but you could also use Sword 2-3 before proceeding with the chain.
  2. Call of the Wild for boons.
  3. Beastmode to gain the boons on your pet too.
  4. "Sic 'Em!"
  5. Hunter's Call
  6. One Wolf Pack
  7. Solar Beam spam until target dies. Sigil of Superior Sigil of Rage already gives you some Quickness Quickness for this part but Quickening Zephyr could add even more.
  8. Optional - you could use Smoke Assault (soulbeast) as a finishing move against escaping targets or if you're being pressured. This is an excellent multihit ability with good One Wolf Pack synergy that also evades incoming attacks.
  9. You could add other stances to this combo too if you want to increase your success rate like Dolyak Stance for the Stability Stability.

Stealth stacking rotation

  1. Smoke Cloud
  2. Call of the Wild
  3. Beastmode
  4. Worldly Impact
  5. Pounce
  6. Serpent's Strike

Very binary build, you either win in the first few seconds or you're kind of screwed, but it definitely has the damage to win and seems to work more often than not. Rather satisfying when it works, and if it doesn't, you know what you signed up for anyway.
