Overview

A condition DPS Mirage build that also provides permanent Alacrity Alacrity and 25 stacks of Might Might to 5 players by spamming the ambush skill Chaos Vortex. It excels against bosses that attack a lot due to a large portion of its damage coming from Confusion Confusion. It is also highly survivable and can easily avoid boss attacks because it is in Mirage Cloak for most of its rotation. Also incidentally provides Fury Fury, Aegis Aegis and Resolution Resolution to party members through Winds of Chaos and Chaos Storm.

Weapon Variants

One of your staffs may be swapped for Axe/Pistol. This will be a significant increase in damage but approximately halves your Alacrity Alacrity generation, so you will need another source of Alacrity Alacrity to make it permanent. Two mirages running Staff & Axe/Pistol will provide more damage than one Staff mirage and one DPS mirage.

Skill Variants

  • Feedback over Signet of Domination if you need reflects.

Specializations

Specialization Variants

  • Take Duelist's Discipline and Mirrored Axes if you are using the Axe variant.
  • Bountiful Disillusionment if your uptime of Vigor Vigor or Regeneration Regeneration isn't permanent. Use Distortion immediately after another shatter to not waste any clones.
  • Self-Deception is used to cover more mistakes, or instances where clones die unexpectedly. If you are confident that it will not be needed, Riddle of Sand is more damage, and Renewing Oasis could be used if Regeneration Regeneration uptime is not permanent.

Boon Duration Variants

Ritualist stats Ritualist stats provide a very efficient way to get boon duration. The above setup provides 27.53% with the bonus from Chaotic Persistence, but more Ritualist stats Ritualist stats gear can be swapped in if required. It is recommended that you have somewhere between 25-35% boon duration.

If you do not have access to Ritualist stats Ritualist stats gear, you can go full Viper stats Viper stats with and to reach 33.13%.

In fractals, the extra concentration and endurance regeneration from mobility potions may allow you to run with less boon duration on your gear, or play the Axe/Pistol variant without compromising Alacrity Alacrity.

Usage

Opener

  1. Phantasmal Warlock
  2. Phase Retreat
  3. Jaunt
  4. False Oasis
  5. Crystal Sands
  6. Dodge and cast Chaos Vortex
  7. Chaos Storm
  8. Cry of Frustration just before your Phantasms transform into clones (approximately 4 seconds after your cast Phantasmal Warlock)
  9. Jaunt to regain your third clone

Rotation

After the opener above you want to be dodging as often as you can to trigger Chaos Vortex.

  • Try to cast Cry of Frustration off cooldown, and immediately recover three clones.
    • The best way to recover clones on this build is using Phase Retreat, then immediately using Jaunt back into position and casting either False Oasis or Crystal Sands.
    • It is worth slightly delaying skills that generate clones in order to guarantee you can get back to three as soon as possible.
  • Use Chaos Storm off cooldown, but don't prioritize it over Chaos Vortex.
  • Use Chaos Armor off cooldown.
  • Use Crystal Sands off cooldown.
    • Be mindful of your where you place the Mirage Mirror, as you will want to be able to access them later.
    • The Mirage Mirror spawns in the center of the skill's AoE marker.
  • Keep a charge or two of Jaunt for mobility or in case you run out of clones for some reason.

Tips

  • Make sure to collect the Mirage Mirrors from False Oasis and Crystal Sands for extra casts of Chaos Vortex.
  • Dodge as much as possible while leaving yourself endurance to evade attacks. Be sure to only weapon swap when below 50% endurance so as not to waste any of the endurance gained from Sigil of Superior Sigil of Energy.
  • Jaunt and Chaos Armor can be cast during other skills' channels.
    • Make sure to never use Jaunt during Chaos Vortex as this will create new clones due to the Self-Deception and will cancel the clone attacks.
  • Make sure to never Weapon swap Weapon swap during the animation of Chaos Vortex as this will cancel the Ambush attack.
  • If your target is about to attack, you can slightly delay Chaos Storm in order to trigger Chaotic Interruption. This trait will trigger even against foes with defiance bars, provided they are using a skill.
  • If you're not comfortable with timing Cry of Frustration to your phantasms in the opening rotation, you can simply delay it a few seconds until Phase Retreat is off cooldown for easier timing at a very small DPS loss.
  • False Oasis and Cry of Frustration have the same cooldown, so you may find it easy to always use False Oasis after shattering for clone recovery.
  • Phantasmal Warlock is a DPS loss if used regularly in your rotation, but can be useful to apply vulnerability if your squad is lacking other sources.

Permanent or high uptime on the three key boons for an alacrity support, and capable of dealing good damage against bosses that attack frequently.

Deals ludicrous damage with a very simple while also taking care of an entire squad's Alacrity and Might.
