This build is up to date for the March 14, 2025 patch.
Overview
This Greatsword and Crossbow build for large-scale PvP has a similar playstyle to small-scale or solo play and it fits perfectly for people that are more experienced playing solo or in small group content and just now want to get involved with large scale PvP. The main thing you have to offer when playing this build is incredible kill potential and peeling for your backline while moving into the frontline of your zerg to help with pressure from time to time. The combo of using
Devastating Smash and
Merciless Barrage shouldn't be underestimated though as it can be used to quickly kill a group of enemies and create an opening.
Attributes
PRIMARY

Dexterity
+

Perception
SECONDARY

Strength
+

Wisdom
With the unique stats and attributes system in Throne and Liberty, it can be difficult to determine exactly where to invest your attribute points at each stage of the game. This is because gear pieces provide attributes just like leveling up does, meaning everyone will have a different number of attribute points depending on what gear they are wearing at the time.
Given this variation, it's best to reset your attributes regularly to adjust to the new gear you acquire. Aim to reach the achievement effects, which provide extra benefits at milestones like 30, 50, and 70 points.
For this build, focus on increasing Perception and Dexterity to maximize your damage. These should be your primary stats, especially in the early stages. As you level up and upgrade your gear, keep investing in them to boost your critical hit rate, accuracy, and range. Strength and Wisdom should be secondary priorities. Strength will help increase your health and make you more durable so reaching 30 points is great to do, while Wisdom will aid in mana regeneration. Although these stats are less important, they still play a role in improving your overall survivability as you advance while also making use of
Vital Force.
Skills
Focus on upgrading
Quick Fire and
Mortal Mark as soon as possible, as they significantly enhance your damage output.
Quick Fire is one of your main damaging abilities while
Mortal Mark can mark a target and deal a percentage of the damage you've done to that target once the mark ends. This makes
Mortal Mark pair perfectly with any rotation. Additionally, consider upgrading
Selfless Diffusion for added survivability, especially in challenging situations where you need to get out of a
Ensnaring Arrow bind.
Upgrade
Ascending Slash and
Stunning Blow are your main CC skills that allow you to catch enemies quickly and kill them just as quickly by CC chaining them. Meanwhile,
Precision Dash is a great movement skill that will also allow you to CC and catch enemies just like
Devastating Smash
As far as passives go, you should focus on improving both
Cold Warrior &
Vital Force first as they pair well and grant you a lot of hit rate and heavy attack.
Don't disregard
Ambidexterity and
Nature's Power either though as they boost your damage quite a bit. You will mostly be using the Greatsword as your primary weapon and
Ambidexterity pairs perfectly with the high chance of activating off-hand weapon the Crossbow has.

These are the first items you should strive for through the leveling period as they are very easy to get and upgrade or trait as needed. However, you shouldn't try to trait these items too much as you won't be spending too much time playing with this setup before you start changing pieces into the Midgame. The green accessories however are very easy to trait as you can craft many of them quickly in order to get the correct traits so you should consider traiting them until you change into purples. The same goes for the blue ring as you keep it for a long time.

This is the gear you should transition to once you're leveled to 50 and start grinding gear. It is comprised of gear you can get either from dungeons or by completing Litographs, they are relatively easy to trait up and you will spend most of the time wearing this set before advancing into the late game so traiting these items is very important and should be your main focus.

While runes can be applied to different types of gear, you should make sure that you invest into the gear pieces that you plan on using for a long time. However, if the build you are using uses the same items between Mid Game and End Game, you can invest into adding runes to them as early as you get the items.
This is the current endgame gear you should aim for, and while it isn't easy to acquire, it offers great power without the need of acquiring archboss gear pieces. However, items like
Tevent's Fangs of Fury or other archboss weapons are superior but difficult to acquire for the majority of players. If you do manage to get the archboss weapons for your build, feel free to use them over the weapons shown here.

You should be aiming to reach and unlock masteries (the corner nodes) as soon as possible as they usually make the largest impact in the build. While minor nodes shouldn't be forgotten, make sure to unlock masteries as fast as possible before spreading out and spending into less important nodes.

Rotations
- This is your bread and butter rotation in Large Scale PVP. Start by buffing yourself with activating

Mother Nature's Protest before beginning to look for an opportunity to catch multiple enemies stacked together. Once you spotted such an opportunity, use
DaVinci's Courage to increase your HP to improve your chance of survival.
- Use

Devastating Smash stun the group of enemies and follow up with a quick
Nimble Leap to increase range before using
Merciless Barrage to wipe out the group you caught.
- This rotation is designed for delivering a quick burst damage to a single target before they can react. Make sure you have

Mother Nature's Protest active before catching your target and using
Mortal Mark to prepare for the following burst damage.
- Begin damaging with

Quick Fire followed by
Nimble Leap to reset and use
Quick Fire again before continuing with your Greatsword combo. Use
Precision Dash two times to bind your target before CC-ing them with
Ascending Slash and finishing them off with
Guillotine Blade

Selfless Diffusion: This is your main defensive ability that will stop you from getting pinned down, useful when you're bound by abilities like
Ensnaring Arrow or targeted by upgraded
Shadow Strike.
Useful Information
- Select Lady Knight Kamarshea as your guardian; it offers essential protection with its shield, capable of absorbing damage equal to 50% of your mana. This not only aids in mitigating damage but also accelerates your cooldown speed, allowing you to use your abilities more frequently.
