Outrider - Greatsword + Crossbow Small Scale PvP Build
- High Burst Damage
- Versatile
- Squishy
- Off-meta
Overview
Greatsword and Crossbow build for small-scale PvP with combination of burst damage and sustained DPS, offering versatility in both close-quarters combat with the Greatsword and complementing it with the Crossbow medium range skills. The synergy between Merciless Barrage and Devastating Smash offers unique opportunities even in small scale PVP like Dominion events where a small group of enemies can stack up.
Attributes
Allocate points primarily into Dexterity and Perception as they provide the most significant boost to damage output, which is crucial for a DPS-focused build. Aim to reach level 30 in each stat to maximize damage potential. Allocate any remaining points into Strength to increase your health pool and benefit from the additional damage provided by the Vital Force passive but don't go past the point where it requires investing 2 attribute points to gain one.
Skills
Upgrade Valiant Brawl, Death Blow and Stunning Blow quickly as these are the three skills you will be comboing very often while playing this build, with Guillotine Blade being already purple when you get it, you don't have to prioritize upgrading it just yet even though its one of your core abilities.
Focus on upgrading Devastating Smash and Merciless Barrage as quickly as possible to increase stun chance and allow you to combo the two skills together for AOE burst damage. Quick Fire improves your overall damage potential and can be used to finish off players that are just out of your melee range, while DaVinci's Courage offers great survivability by increasing your HP and HP regen. Additionally, a very important defensive skill comes in the form of Selfless Diffusion as it allows you to cleanse stuns and get out of tricky situations if caught out of position.
While Precision Dash and Ascending Slash are great mobility skills, they shouldn't be a top priority but can be upgraded later as they allow you to make plays and move between targets with ease while also enhancing your damage and allowing different combos.
As far as passives go, your main focus should be upgrading Vital Force, Cold Warrior and Robust Constitution as they play into eachother perfectly while the Crossbow passives offer raw damage. Keep in mind that Nature's Power can also be activated by using Iron Point Parry in any direction and this also triggers Barbarian's Dash!
Equipment
These are the first items you should strive for through the leveling period as they are very easy to get and upgrade or trait as needed. However, you shouldn't try to trait these items too much as you won't be spending too much time playing with this setup before you start changing pieces into the Midgame. The green accessories however are very easy to trait as you can craft many of them quickly in order to get the correct traits so you should consider traiting them until you change into purples. The same goes for the blue ring as you keep it for a long time.
This is the gear you should transition to once you're leveled to 50 and start grinding gear. It is comprised of gear you can get either from dungeons or by completing Litographs, they are relatively easy to trait up and you will spend most of the time wearing this set before advancing into the late game so traiting these items is very important and should be your main focus.
This is the current endgame gear you should aim for, and while it isn't easy to acquire, it offers great power without the need of acquiring archboss gear pieces. However, items like Tevent's Fangs of Fury or other archboss weapons are superior but difficult to acquire for the majority of players. If you do manage to get the archboss weapons for your build, feel free to use them over the weapons shown here.

Crossbow: Put 9 points into Chain Fire to increase your damage and enhance your ability to eliminate enemies. Then, allocate 9 points into Move to boost your damage and movement speed. The final point should go into Regen for improved health regeneration.
Greatsword: Invest 9 points in Face Off to boost your overall DPS and increase your heavy attack chance. Spend the remaining 9 points in Incapacitate to enhance stun chance and cooldown speed. The last point should go into Charge to improve your ranged defense.
Rotations
- Starting the engagement with a decisive and aggressive approach is key to maximizing the effectiveness of this rotation. Precision Dash once to close some distance to your target then use it again on your main target before using Devastating Smash to stun the target and whoever else might be near them. Once stunned, use Merciless Barrage to kill the small group of enemies with ease.
- The rotation is straightforward: begin with Precision Dash to catch and bind your target. If your bind succeeds, use Ascending Slash to trip (Prone) your target and then use Gaia Crash to deal quick damage while they are on the ground. Continue with Stunning Blow and Death Blow before finishing them off with Guillotine Blade.
- Keep in mind that you can skip the Stunning Blow and just use Death Blow while they are prone.
Selfless Diffusion: This remains your only defensive, active ability, it is great for when you get stunned as it lets you break free!
Useful Information
- Select Lady Knight Kamarshea as your guardian; it offers essential protection with its shield, capable of absorbing damage equal to 50% of your mana. This not only aids in mitigating damage but also accelerates your cooldown speed, allowing you to use your abilities more frequently.
