Overview

This is a build focused on Burning Burning and offers good damage with a simple rotation. Being fully ranged gives it flexibility to deal with mechanics without losing DPS uptime, and the elementals also provide a significant amount of consistent damage.

Skill Variants

  • If you do not have time (e.g. during pre-events) to pre-cast Glyph of Lesser Elementals a few times, then Glyph of Storms may be a stronger choice.
  • Thanks to Written in Stone, Signet of Earth provides 180 toughness while it is in cooldown. If this would interfere with tanking, you can swap the skill out for Glyph of Storms.

  • This setup deals almost identical damage to one using full Viper stats Viper stats gear, Rune of Superior Rune of the Trapper and a Sigil of Superior Sigil of Smoldering instead of the Sigil of Superior Sigil of Bursting. This setup is identical to that used by the full Condi Tempest build, with the exception of the weapons.

The difference in these two utilities is roughly 0.5% dps, so use what you feel you can afford.

Usage

The gist of the rotation is to camp Fire Attunement, using almost all your skills off cooldown.

  • Start with elementals summoned if possible.
  • Overload Fire is your highest priority outside of the opener (see below), followed by Flamewall, Signet of Fire then Signet of Earth.
    • Try to stand inside your target's hitbox, as this skill combos with itself, firing whirl finishers in all direction.
  • Cast all skills off cooldown, with the exception of Fire Shield and Arcane Brilliance:
    • Fire Shield is used to maintain the Tempestuous Aria buff. This buff is triggered at the start and end of Overload Fire, so you want to use Fire Shield just after the buff runs out - this will be when Overload Fire has an ~8 second cooldown remaining (assuming you have Alacrity Alacrity).
      • Spreading them out like this also ensures that you are able to use Transmute Fire twice - if both skills were used too close to each other, Transmute Fire would still be on cooldown.

Opener

  1. Signet of Fire
  2. Signet of Earth
  3. Flamewall
  4. Overload Fire

A surprisingly solid, very simple condi DPS. If it can precast enough elementals, it can easily compete with other builds on suitable encounters.
