Overview

Scrapper boon support build capable of providing good DPS along with 100% Quickness Quickness and Superspeed Superspeed uptime to five targets.

This build fills the role of quickness source for your subgroup, and it can generate ~65% Fury Fury, ~7 Might Might and ~10% Protection Protection.

Quickness Scrapper's real strength lies in Impact Savant, which allows it to tank without investing in extra survivability, maximising damage on encounters that would otherwise force the tank to gear more defensively. Further, the majority of its Quickness Quickness is applied in a 360 radius rather than the 240 radius of some chronomancer builds, or the cone of firebrand. This makes it more reliable in groups that stack poorly, but also means that it cannot fulfil kiting roles.

Skill Variants

Utility

  • Bulwark Gyro could be used to replace either Grenade Kit or Shredder Gyro if the groups needs Stability Stability or damage reduction. This is a significant DPS loss whichever skill is replaced; Grenade Kit is a bigger DPS loss, but will allow you to benefit from the extra Quickness Quickness generation if it is otherwise lacking. Be aware that Bulwark Gyro can rapidly down you if your teammates are taking too much damage.
  • Purge Gyro could also be taken for a potent condi cleanse, but with the same caveats as above.

Elite

  • Sneak Gyro will provide Stealth Stealth to five targets, which can be very potent in the right situation. Avoid using it in general, however, as Stealth Stealth can interrupt players attacks and it interferes with deadeye rotations that rely on Stealth Stealthing only at the correct time.

  • Pinpoint Distribution if the group is lacking Might Might.
  • Aim-Assisted Rocket should be a small DPS increase if you're using Grenade Kit.

Equipment Notes

  • This setup provides ~34.5% boon duration.
    • If you find yourself wanting more or less boon duration, you can change the hammer to Diviner stats Diviner stats and switch one or more of the armour pieces to Berserker stats Berserker stats. Make sure not to go lower than ~28% boon duration.
  • You could also switch the Sigil of Superior Sigil of Impact for a Sigil of Superior Sigil of Concentration or use food such as .
  • In fractals, you might be able to get by in full Berserker stats Berserker stats gear if you have the correct mastery and enough AR.

Utility

Usage

  • Use Medic Gyro, Shredder Gyro, Function Gyro, Blast Gyro and Bypass Coating off cooldown for Quickness Quickness.
  • Use Reconstruction Field off cooldown for Protection Protection.
  • You have enough boon duration that you can very slightly delay your gyro skills if necessary. In particular you might want to use Function Gyro to revive someone, or delay Blast Gyro for a defiance bar or to avoid knocking adds away. You shouldn't delay for more than a few seconds though or your Quickness Quickness uptime will suffer!
  • If tanking, the sustain from Impact Savant depends on attacking, so don't slack on your DPS.
  • Hammer is an overloaded weapon in terms of utility: Electro-whirl reflects projectiles, Rocket Charge is a series of short evades, Shock Shield is a channeled block, and Thunderclap is an AoE stun. Making the best use of all of them will greatly improve your effectiveness.

Damage

  • Use Grenade Barrage off cooldown.
  • Most of your damage comes from Electro-whirl and Shrapnel Grenade. They have a very similar cooldown so you can "link" them together - every time you use Electro-whirl, jump into Grenade Kit and use Shrapnel Grenade.
  • Every third time you do this, you can also use Thunderclap.
  • Most of the rest of the time you fill with hammer autos.
  • See the Power DPS build for more details about structuring the rotation.

Strong DPS, can tank with minimal toughness, and perma superspeed is just nice to have. Currently the best power quickness support for fast groups in fractals.

I am giving this build 3 stars as of the EoD patch. Impact Savant was gutted, and Scrappers low dps and limited boon sharing can't really compete with the other options available.

While it doesn't quite beat Firebrand in terms of the DPS/Quick role, it's still quite good. I've been enjoying this myself a lot lately.
