Overview
A condition DPS build for Firebrand in fractals and raids. This build can inflict massive AoE Burning bursts with , which resets on killing (most) enemies. This makes it one of the burstiest condition damage builds and very strong if it can consistently reset .
In addition to DPS, Firebrand's tomes can provide high defensive utility to its subgroup including Aegis, Protection, Resistance, Resolution, Stability, projectile destruction, and emergency healing.

Usage
Rotation
The basic idea is to use skills off cooldown while spamming Burning with key skills.
Axe is the more damaging weapon set, as the autoattacks on Sceptre are very weak. However, you have several long cast-times that that can be used to cover the time spent on Sceptre and minimise the need to use them. As the cooldown of
is a little over 20 seconds (depending on how fast you spam the charges), this means you will weapon swap nearly off cooldown.Every ~16s you want to use
then jump into , use three skills and exit. This takes priority over all other skills except if your charges would run out while in tome.
Opener
During the opener spam all charges as fast as you can without delaying other skills
- and during the cast
- Weapon swap
- Epilogue Ashes of the Just
- Chapter 4 Scorched Aftermath
- Chapter 2 Igniting Burst
- Stow Tome
- x2
- Autoattack until Symbol of Punishment is almost off cooldown
- Chapter 2 Igniting Burst
- Stow Tome
- - hopefully the second charge from will trigger immediately afterwards
- x2
- Weapon swap
Axe
While on Axe, you mostly use
and off cooldown and autoattack in between, making sure to finish auto chains. When comes off cooldown, you want to use it then immediately perform a tome burst. As a general rule you want to use
and twice each before swapping to Sceptre.
Tome Usage
You cannot see the cooldown of your tome skills outside of your tome, but the most important skill is Epilogue Ashes of the Just, which has the same cooldown as . By casting these skills in close succession it is somewhat possible to keep track. Each time you enter, you will use the same three skills: Epilogue Ashes of the Just, Chapter 4 Scorched Aftermath and Chapter 2 Igniting Burst. Using three skills in one burst provides a page refund via so the third skill is essentially free.
You may enter tome and Epilogue Ashes of the Just will not quite be off cooldown. In this case do Chapter 2 Igniting Burst ⇒ Chapter 4 Scorched Aftermath ⇒ Epilogue Ashes of the Just.
You can deal some extra damage by quickly entering tome and using Chapter 2 Igniting Burst in between major tome bursts. This is most effectively done when you are on Scepter. Make sure not to spend the pages you need for the major tome burst!
Scepter
You can squeeze a bit of extra DPS out of the rotation with Scepter. As the autoattacks are very weak, you want to cover as much time on this weapon with the following:
- throws
- Recharging
Using these skills means you spend as little time autoattack as possible whilst still being able to benefit from
.
General Tips
- All mantras are instant cast and should be used while performing the rest of the rotation.
- Alacrity, but is. This means they have approximately the same cooldown so if you activate when it comes off cooldown and wait until triggers, you can throw both in quick succession. is not affected by
and should be used in place of autoattacks when up. You should throw the free you get from as well.
- Make sure to always complete your auto attack chain while on Axe.
