Overview
Flamethrower Engineer is an incredible simple, reliable, farming build that can be played in a myriad of different ways and includes variants for every possible Engineer specialization. Scrapper is the default recommendation due to its very high uptime on Superspeed, however core engineer, mechanist, and holosmith can all be viable options for this build.
This is a farm build and does not feature high DPS. Instead it focuses on smooth, comfortable gameplay. If you are looking for a Scrapper build with high DPS, instead try Build:Scrapper_-_Power_Scrapper or Build:Holosmith_-_Sword_Holo

Specializations
Build Keystones
The core of all of these builds features Tools and Firearms. Firearms is absolutely essential to this build due to Swiftness uptime, which synergizes with , or can provide us with a small boost to DPS.

Scrapper is the best default spec here as it provides us with significant Superspeed uptime, which can be fantastic in a zerg farm. It's also got good passive defense through its barrier generation and, most importantly, provides us with permanent Stability via .

Mechanist

Mechanist is another very strong choice, as the Jade Mech can be a powerful ally in open world. Mechanist lacks the superspeed of scrapper but gains a strong companion that can tank enemies in open world.

Holosmith is notably less effective than the other options, but when combined with high DPS condi gear such as Viper and played correctly (See Build:Holosmith_-_Condi_Holo it can output incredible DPS to bosses while maintaining a comfortable, laid back playstyle when mobile in the zerg.

Core Engineer can fulfill the same playstyle as its elite specs, but instead uses Engineer's powerful Gadgets and Elixirs combined with the Alchemy traitline for an easy, defensive build.

- The stats used here are not particularly important, and other stats such as Berserker stats, Viper, Marauder, Diviner can be used. If looking for a very cheap option, use Berserker stats named gear from the TP. What's important is that the set provides both Crit Chance and Power.

DPS Equipment
If you are looking for a build that sacrifices some comfort for dealing proper damage while still retaining access to Build:Holosmith_-_Condi_Holo, Build:Scrapper_-_Power_Scrapper, or Build:Mechanist_-_Condition_Mechanist.

Other options, such as Birthday Cake, Campfire Treats, Spicy Pumpkin Cookie, or other similar food is fine to use. The general goal is to prioritize the following:
- Flat % Experience, like we see on Ascended Food
- % Karma Gain
- % Magic Find
- Experience from kills
- % Gold find
This assumes you are converting Karma and Spirit Shards to gold correctly. If you are not converting Karma or Spirit Shards, prioritize Magic Find.

The usage of this build is incredibly simple. Camp Superspeed. If using non-scrapper variants, generally cast their skills off-cooldown.
