Deadlock Ivy Build
Overview
Ivy is one of the most versatile heroes in Deadlock and offers great support to her team with both healing and CC while being extremely mobile. She is the best Urn carrier in Deadlock and can combo extremely well with other heroes like Seven thanks to her ability to pick up friendly players and carry them through the air.
Ivy is perfect for players looking to fill the support role in Deadlock as she is easy to play while also being very versatile and with a respectable skill ceiling, making her a satisfying hero to master.

Skills
- Kudzu Bomb — While it doesn't do great damage, Kudzu Bomb covers a large area and slows both troopers and players that pass through. You should use this when playing in the duo lane to help setup kills by throwing it ahead of enemies and into their escape route or simply to deal damage and keep them off a part of the lane.
- Watcher's Covenant — Use this skill to heal your team mates! Connecting with team mates will heal them whenever you heal yourself, providing bullet lifesteal and increases fire rate. Keep in mind that Watcher's Covenant will re-attach to another friendly target if you move away from the initial target and into range of a new team mate but you can also do it manually.
- Stone Form — This is both a heal and a CC skill as it stuns enemies caught by the Stone Form while also making you invulnerable and healing you for a portion of your max HP. Aim to always use Stone Form against multiple enemies in team fights to gain an advantage and make the most of the skill!
- Air Drop — This versatile ability can carry a teammate out of danger or you can use it to fly alone and hold a bomb instead. You have full control over the direction of the flight and can move up and down in the air. Throwing the bomb/team mate will apply a silence in a large area upon impact, silencing all enemy players caught in it. Air Drop also pairs perfectly with Sevens Storm Cloud, allowing you to carry him around the map to catch fleeing enemies.
Early Game / Laning Phase
If in duo-lane, focus on farming Troopers and denying them against your enemy while your duo partner focuses on poking and possibly pushing for kills. Support this by using your Stone Form to catch unaware enemies and collapse together with your lane partner to score a kill. Aim to remain with your lane partner as much as possible to support them but stay in lane whenever they are ganking so you don't lose your guardian. You can also go out to gank yourself but don't do it too often as it is risky and creates lane inbalance in duo lanes which can easily turn into a 1vs3 if the other duo lane ganks.
Focus on buying your healing items first. Both Restorative Shot and Melee Lifesteal, should be used to constantly heal yourself with both melee and your gun. Remember that both items have a small cooldown and should be used against heroes as much as possible. Spirit Strike also improves your melee damage, improving your poke potential when meleeing.
Follow up by buying Mystic Reach to improve the range of your abilities! Reactive Barrier and Extra Health are great defensive items to help you before entering the mid game.
Early Game Situational
If you are struggling in lane, Healing Rite can offer great healing without requiring you to go back to the base but you must remain outside of enemy range. This is particularly useful for Ivy as it also heals the target attached with Watcher's Covenant.
Mid Game
Once Mid game rolls around and the Midboss spawns, you should try to maximize your team advantage as much as possible by taking control of the Urn and delivering it as often as possible. You can use Air Drop to carry the urn yourself without needing a second player as you can use this ability before the urn collection channel ends.
Whenever you aren't delivering the Urn, try to stay with your team in order to help during the team fights as that is where Ivy shines. Use Health Nova and Rescue Beam to keep your team topped up and healed throughout the mid game so they have an easier time snowballing towards late game with souls advantage.
Always keep an eye out for vending machines and neutral jungle camps though as they provide a large amount of souls and you shouldn't let the enemy farm them if possible.
Both Healing Booster and Enduring Speed are must-have items as they boost your healing and mobility while Heroic Aura helps your entire team.
Late Game
During the late game, focus on staying with your team as much as possible in order to be there during every team fight. If there is a chance to start a team fight, use Air Drop to fly one of your close range team mates into the enemy group. Heroes like Mo and Krill, Dynamo and Haze are great to use as an engagement tool thanks to their AOE CCs.
Try to keep an eye on Midboss and don't let enemies take control of it after winning a team fight. You should always try to secure the Midboss for your own team after decisively winning a team fight, pinging for team mates to help and take the advantage instead.
Your role becomes to deny enemy damage and negate it through the use of both Curse for silencing and locking down enemies while Inhibitor is the perfect choice to lower overall damage of enemies regardless if they are spirit or bullet focused heroes.
Soul Rebirth is a great item as you can begin to bait fights, force enemies to use a lot of their kits to kill you before you come back to life. Keep in mind however that Soul Rebirth appears under your player icon in the scoreboard! Refresher is also a very strong late game item but you rarely get to actually buy it as matches usually end before that.
Situational Items
These items can be bought up to counter certain heroes as they work perfectly for specific scenarios.
- Healbane - This is a great item choice against healing heavy heroes like Infernus or Abrams, helping you take them down.
- Ethereal Shift — This item is fantastic for engaging with all your abilities before using Ethereal Shift to become immune to damage. It is also good for avoid high damage skills like Guided Owl.
- Knockdown — Cheap item to counter both snipers like Vindicta and Grey Talon by knocking them out of the air. This also works on Seven while he is ulting and he will also be stopped.
- Silence Glyph — Buy this if you want to silence enemies and turn them into a quick kill. Works exceptionally well vs enemies that make use of short cooldowns like Lash. It is also great for countering Yamato as the silence can stop her from using the ultimate.
- Debuff Remover — This item removes all debuffs when pressed and can be amazing vs heroes like Bebop as it counters his Sticky Bomb entirely.
- Metal Skin — While not very useful against other heroes, this is very good vs Hazes ultimate, allowing you to reposition away from her while she uses it without taking any damage.
