Deadlock Lady Geist Build
Overview
Lady Geist is a strong hero with an even stronger early game through the use of Essence Bomb as it deals incredibly high damage and bullies out most lane enemies without the need to even come into close range, denying large parts of the lane with her Essence Bomb.
She has an innate life stealing ability with Life Drain, being able to drain the life of her opponents in order to win 1vs1 fights while Soul Exchange swaps her health with the enemy, allowing you to turn around fights with ease and making Lady Geist one of the most powerful 1vs1 heroes in Deadlock.
- Easy to play.
- High AOE damage & Lifesteal.
- One of the best duelists in Deadlock.
- Great split pushing ability with the high AOE damage of Essence Bomb.

Skills
- Essence Bomb — This is your main damaging skill as it does high AOE damage with its explosion while also remaining active as a toxic field that deals damage to those that remain in the field. Essence Bomb should be used on cooldown, as much as possible in order to maximize the damage you do then fight within its AOE field to maximize your damage. Be careful however as this skill drains a portion of your HP.
- Life Drain — A great skill for surviving in 1vs1 fights as it drains enemy HP but also silences the enemy, making them unable to fight back. However, you must maintain line of sight with the enemy as losing LoS will break the effect. Keep in mind that you can still shoot your gun while using Life Drain!
- Malice — Just like Essence Bomb, this skill sacrifices some of your HP to deal damage and increase the follow-up damage you do to the same enemy you applied the Malice debuff to, boosting your Essence Bomb damage.
- Soul Exchange — This can be an auto-win button by using it when you are low HP to swap your health bar with the enemy before quickly finishing them off. However, this is a very risky skill as getting CC'd or silenced before using it can lead to your death.
Early Game / Laning Phase
Lady Geist is one of the strongest laners in Deadlock and performs exceptionally well in both solo and duo lane through the use of Essence Bomb which covers a large portion of the lane and pushes enemies out of lane with ease. You should focus on playing long range in the beginning of the game, lowering enemy players' HP slowly while denying troopers and farming your own. Stay aggressive during the laning phase and use Life Drain along with Restorative Shot to out-sustain the enemy and replenish health after using Essence Bomb.
You should rush Mystic Burst to quickly increase the damage of your Essence Bomb while Mystic Reach increases the range where you can throw Essence Bomb.
Continue building lifesteal with Spirit Lifesteal and Bullet Lifesteal, allowing you to spam Essence Bomb and rely less on Life Drain as its long cooldown can be serious issue in the early phase of the game before you get to buy Improved Cooldown.
Early Game Situational
If you are struggling in lane, Healing Rite can offer great healing without requiring you to go back to the base but you must remain outside of enemy range as any attack you receive from enemies will cancel the item. You should sell this later into the game as its value lowers while the game advances.
Mid Game
As Midboss spawns, you should look for opportunities to take down the first walker as soon as possible and split pushing. Thanks to your incredible damage from Essence Bomb, you should have no issues pushing lanes quickly before moving off and onto another lane to keep the advantage and build up a souls advantage or take out another walker and unlock a flex slot.
Don't overlook the vending machines scattered around the map, as they give a lot of souls and can help you gain a souls advantage. Prioritize the ones on the enemy's side of the map to bait quick 1v1 fights, especially when Soul Exchange is off cooldown. Don’t stay too long though and avoid taking unfair fights.
In the mid game is when Lady Geist begins to deal even more damage and Mystic Vulnerability is a big part of the damage power spike alongside Pristine Emblem as it increases the damage done by your gun.
Long Range not only increases your bullet shield but also increases the damage you do at a distance, allowing you to play further away from the enemies and close to the maximum range of Essence Bomb while remaining safe.
Late Game
The biggest damage increase Lady Geist receives is in the late game as she starts making a big difference during team fights once you start gaining more spirit power thanks to Boundless Spirit, Improved Burst and Surge of Power (applied on Essence Bomb). Your focus should remain split pushing and taking 1vs1 fights against enemies that underestimate your damage potential. Always try to fight team fights from range, using Essence Bomb as often as possible throughout a fight before catching wounded enemies and silencing them with Life Drain to finish them off.
Both Improved Bullet Armor & Improved Spirit Armor are great defensive items to help pushing the advantage in the late game and make you more resistant to both damage types to stay in fights much longer.
Situational Items
These items can be bought up to counter certain heroes as they work perfectly for specific scenarios.
- Shadow Weave — This is a fantastic choice as a luxury item in the end game when you have too many souls and a full build but you are still struggling against Vindicta and Grey Talon.
- Ethereal Shift — Great to avoid high damage skills like Guided Owl.
- Knockdown — Cheap item to counter both snipers like Vindicta and Grey Talon by knocking them out of the air. This also works on Seven while he is ulting and he will also be stopped.
- Curse — This item interrupts spellcasting, silences and disarms a target while also making them incapable of using items for the duration. While it is expensive, it can help a lot vs the Dynamos Singularity and many more and its one of the most powerful items in the game.
- Silence Glyph — Buy this if you want to silence enemies and turn them into a quick kill. Works exceptionally well vs enemies that make use of short cooldowns like Lash. It is also great for countering Yamato as the silence can stop her from using the ultimate.
- Debuff Remover — This item removes all debuffs when pressed and can be amazing vs heroes like Bebop as it counters his Sticky Bomb entirely.
- Metal Skin — While not very useful against other heroes, this is very good vs Hazes ultimate, allowing you to reposition away from her while she uses it without taking any damage.
- Soul Rebirth — Another item worth buying late into the match as it brings you back to life and allows you to initiate, pull enemies to kill you while you do maximum damage then revive. Keep in mind that enemies can see that you've got this item under your hero's icon at the top of the screen.
