Deadlock Viscous Build
Overview
Viscous is one of the most difficult Deadlock heroes to master but once mastered, Viscous offers incredibly versatile gameplay that can be enjoyed by anyone willing to spend hours mastering the hero, thanks to her many disruptive crowd control and movement skills, Viscous is incredibly difficult to pin down while remaining capable of poking and harassing the enemy team from a safe distance.
Viscous's support skills shouldn't be forgotten though as The Cube offers great healing to yourself and your team while also being usable to counter high damage skills.
- High Self-sustain.
- Difficult to kill as high mobility allows Viscous to move in and out of fights.
- Great for split pushing.
- Very Item dependant, tough to play well if behind in souls.
- Cannot do good damage to Vindicta and Grey Talon, being countered by their long range.
- Mechanically difficult with a high skill ceiling.

Skills
- Splatter — Use this skill to deal damage in lane or to make it easier to land Puddle Punch hits. The slow is very useful against fleeing enemies but don't forget the extra bounces Splatter gains once upgraded. Keep in mind that you can throw Splatter through a player and bounce it against a wall while bouncing through the same player again to do extra damage.
- The Cube — This is your main support skill and should be used to heal yourself and your team as much as possible. However, you can also use The Cube against enemies that dive your guardian, forcing them to take damage from the guardian while you stay safe and being healed inside The Cube.
- Puddle Punch — Your bread-and-butter skill, Puddle Punch also acts as a melee attack which makes it usable with melee items like Lifestrike, considerably improving damage.
- Goo Ball — This skill offers Viscous incredible mobility and improves her split pushing ability, allowing her to move between lanes quickly to gain an advantage. Goo Ball becomes incredibly annoying for the enemy team once upgraded as Viscous can also cast skills while in Goo Ball.
Early Game / Laning Phase
As Puddle Punch acts like a light melee attack, you can use it in the laning phase to both clear the wave without giving the enemy a chance to deny the souls. Once you've gotten Melee Lifesteal, make sure to spam Puddle Punch on the enemies to maximize the heal you receive and force enemies out of position. Mystic Burst is a good power spike that passively increases the damage your skills do every time it procs.
Focus on farming troopers as much as possible in order to pull ahead in souls and build up an advantage. Don't forget your right click attack either as it deals good damage (equal to 5 bullets at once) and is especially good to poke enemy players.
Mystic Burst and Spirit Strike will be your main power spike in the early game, increasing the damage of both Puddle Punch and Splatter. Use this power spike to force enemies off lane and increase your advantage and farm troopers even easier from a distance.
Early Game Situational
If you are struggling in lane, Healing Rite can offer great healing but you must remain outside of enemy range as any attack you receive from enemies will cancel the item.
Mid Game
Once Mid game begins and the Midboss spawns, you should look for opportunities to take down the first guardian and shoving the lane deeper before beginning your roaming. With the use of Goo Ball, you can easily roll into lane and catch enemies by surprise before tilting the fight in your favour with a quick kill. Roaming becomes much easier for you and you should start clearing jungle camps close to your lane, looking for and destroying vending machines to boost up your souls. A good rule of thumb is to clear a wave of troopers before clearing the camp between where you killed the wave and your guardian/walker.
Focus on upgrading your damage and sustain through Lifestrike and while Melee Charge will be of great help when clearing waves or jungling as you don't have to reload nearly as much anymore and letting you clear camps much faster while also improving your split laning ability alongside Improved Burst.
Apply Superior Duration and Superior Cooldown to Goo Ball so you can be in the ball form for longer and enjoy the extra mobility.
Roaming across the map to take jungle camps & vending machines should be your priority as you can do so without being caught by enemies. Collapse on the enemy during fights throughout mid game but don't focus too much on picking fights as as they don't offer as many souls as actively split pushing and jungling.
Buy Pristine Emblem and Headhunter to boost your gun damage and try to always aim for the player heads to make proper use of the extra damage increase.
Late Game
During the late game, you should focus on controlling Midboss and pushing lanes, always make sure that your lanes are pushed and the enemy cannot backdoor your base. As fights become more important, you should use Goo Ball to take enemy attention, roll through the enemy team to stun them before moving off to the side of the team fight so you can free cast your skills and wreck havoc.
In the late game, it's important to stick with your team rather than focusing on split pushing. At this stage, your damage isn't as strong compared to heroes like Haze or Wraith. Your main goal should be to stay alive, as getting caught out could put your team at a disadvantage in a 5v6 fight.
Colossus is your priority as it adds extra resistances but also slows enemies, making it easier to push through enemies with Goo Ball while Soul Rebirth makes it so even misplays are punished less throughout the end of the game, allowing you to push in and bait a fight before dying and reviving just to snowball into a won teamfight and kill Midboss.
Situational Items
These items can be bought up to counter certain heroes as they work perfectly for specific scenarios.
- Ethereal Shift — Great to avoid high damage skills like Guided Owl.
- Knockdown — Cheap item to counter both snipers like Vindicta and Grey Talon by knocking them out of the air. This also works on Seven while he is ulting and he will also be stopped.
- Curse — This item interrupts spellcasting, silences and disarms a target while also making them incapable of using items for the duration. While it is expensive, it can help a lot vs Sevens ultimate, Dynamos ultimate and many more and its one of the most powerful items in the game.
- Silence Glyph — Buy this if you want to silence enemies and turn them into a quick kill. Works exceptionally well vs enemies that make use of short cooldowns like Lash or Pocket. It is also great for countering Yamato as the silence can stop her from using the ultimate.
- Debuff Remover — This item removes all debuffs when pressed and can be amazing vs heroes like Bebop as it counters his Sticky Bomb entirely.
- Metal Skin — While not very useful against other heroes, this is very good vs Hazes ultimate, allowing you to reposition away from her while she uses it without taking any damage.
